Quinkan rock art refers to some of the most significant Aboriginal Rock Art sites found within Australia and the world. Found amongst the sandstone escarpments around Laura, Queensland (4 hrs north west of Cairns). This rock art consists of paintings, stencils and engravings. There are many major rock art galleries in the area all depicting mythical figures, people, animals and their tracks. Numerous ochre colours are used throughout these galleries such as: red, white, yellow and black.
